Who Are We?
We are concerned neighbours from across Toronto who believe in healthy, safe shelter and housing for everyone who needs it!
OUR CONCERNS
Right now, over 12,200 people are homeless and living in shelters in the City of Toronto. But many more — 273 a night — are unable to find a bed. Others still find large shelters traumatizing and unsafe.
People are resorting to living outdoors in encampments, under bridges, on the sidewalk, and in ravines instead.
All of them deserve permanent housing they can afford. But until that housing is built, they deserve safe, decent, healthy shelter that they can actually access.
OUR GOAL
Homeless people are our neighbours! They come from and live in our communities, and we want to ensure that they can remain where they feel safest and most at home.
Our goal is to ensure that the City of Toronto's proposed new shelter sites are built, that they are actually safe for people, and that our homeless neighbours know that they are welcome in our communities!
